Venison Cookbook Volume 2
As I prepare to send The Hunting Widow’s Guide to Great Venison Cooking Volume 1 to the printer, I’m thinking ahead to what’s next. Time and time again, Rick and I find ourselves trying Tex-Mex, Southwestern, Mexican, and Latin American dishes…and they’re all great with venison meat! So Volume 2 of the Hunting Widow venison cookbook series is going to focus on those flavors.
For this volume, I would love to add recipes from readers. If you send me a great recipe and I use it in the book, not only will I credit you in the cookbook, I’ll send you a copy of either Volume 1 or Volume 2 for free. With luck, I can have that book written in time the 2011 holidays!
How to Field Dress a Deer
Now that buck season is in full swing, there is a lot of field dressing deer and processing the deer meat going on! Check out our videos on how to do it with putting food on the table in mind. These short videos are great field dressing tutorials. Rick has processed up to three deer in one day and using these techniques, it doesn’t take all day!
Venison Cookbook Cover
We’re getting so close to having The Hunting Widow’s Guide to Great Venison Cooking: Volume 1 done. Here is the gorgeous cover…my stylist Monica and photographer Peggy made me look so good. That roast was pretty good too! If all goes well (meaning we don’t get too swamped with work in the next few weeks), the cookbook should go to the printer by the end of the month and be ready in early November…plenty of time for the holiday season.
