It’s a wonderful new year and time to start working on Volume 2 of my cookbook series in earnest. The theme is South of the Border…it will be a collection of venison recipes for Tex-Mex, Southwestern, and Mexican food. Yum! I would love to know what your favorites are. Even if they aren’t venison recipes, send them on over. I often adapt recipes for other types of meat. Click here to submit a recipe.
Volume 1 of the Hunting Widow’s Guide to Great Venison Cooking is getting close to ready. It’s so exciting to watch it come together. My sister-in-law, with the aid of my good friend, shot the cover this past weekend. Now it’s up to my amazing graphic designer/sister. The interior of the book is beautiful. I can’t wait for people to see it. My only challenge now is that I have about 15 recipes I’ve made since finishing the book that I kind of want to put in there. I guess I need to do a volume 2…
What fun! Today I got together with my two fabulous sisters–in–law for the cover shoot of my cookbook. Peggy took the pictures since she is the most talented amateur photographer I know (if she ever wanted to go pro, she could do it). Lynn has the beautiful kitchen, much nicer than mine, which really needs remodeling (maybe that’s what I’ll do with any money I make from the cookbook). Here are some of my favorites, although when my sister sits down to design the cover, she may well use one of the other 60 shots Peg got. I’m so lucky to have such talented family.
